While advertising, do you want your products or services heard only (radio) or do you want them to be seen and heard in the form of video?
Some reasons why Internet TV and local television continue to take over the market:
-Locals, as well as anyone throughout the world, can not only hear, but they can also see local products, services, events, news, meetings and entertainment.
-Eventually all media will move over to Internet Protocol. This means that all broadcast signals will be disseminated via the Internet. This includes radio, television, news paper, all phones (including cell) and even car radios with 3G/4G. Many services currently used are already functioning in this capacity such as VoIP phones, Netflix, phone books and many other on-demand services.
-All of our media is able to be watched via computers and smartphones such as the iPhone/iPad. Smartphones account for a large percentage of how people send and receive information.
-All of our audio/video content is archived indefinitely for local viewers who can go back and re-watch at their leisure from any internet-capable device.
Some reasons why people are listening to local radio less or leaving altogether:
-People want to hear and see everything. There is an ever increasing amount of individuals who will not settle for an audio-only broadcast.
-People are increasingly turning to Internet searches to find local products and services.
-Offices, cars, and homes are continuously using XM or Sirius satellite over local AM/FM radio in order to avoid hearing so many commercial breaks. They want to hear their music without a great amount of interruptions. Due to this, they are willing to pay for a subscription.
-The availability of on-demand Internet streaming to smartphones, stereo systems, newer 3G / 4G car radios and computers has significantly reduced the demand for local radio. People demand their music now, and don’t want to wait.
-Finally, the iPod and other portable player devices have revolutionized how people listen to music. They can put their own music on the device and create their own playlists, or stream from Pandora and other local Internet based stations. This also removes the demand for local radio in the car since people plug their device into their car system or plug their device into a low-power, portable FM transmitter and broadcast to their car radio.
